Once connected, you can always access your e-mail by visiting http://webmail.avalon.net/

It is recommended that you set-up a mail client to access your mail instead of webmail. You can find instructions to set-up a mail client at http://newweb.avalon.net/email_setup.html

Begin Here
  1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.

  2. Click the Network icon.

  3. Click the arrow box on the Show pop-up list and choose Modem Port.
  4. Click on the PPP tab.
  5. In the Account Name field, type the username. This is the first portion of the email address (e.g., username@avalon.net). If you enter the full email address you will not connect.
  6. In the Password field, type your Avalon password which should be on your enrollment form.
  7. In the Telephone Number field, type a local Avalon access number. *DO NOT enter the area code unless you would normally dial long distance to reach the phone number.

  8. In the Alternate Number field, do not enter a number.
  9. Check the box next to Save password if you wish to have your password saved.
  10. Click the PPP Options button.

  11. Check the box next to Connect automatically when needed.
  12. Click the OK button.

  13. Click the Apply Now button.

  14. Close the Network window.

    Congratulations! You are now configured for internet access! To Connect:

    1. Double-click the Macintosh hard drive icon Macintosh Hard drive iconon the desktop.

    2. Double-click the Applications folder Applications folder

    3. Double-click the Internet Connect icon Internet Connect icon to begin the dial-up connection process.
